The Charlottesville Clinic provides Neurodevelopmental Psychological Testing services. Traditional psychological testing programs serve to provide an accurate diagnosis and treatment recommendations. However, those traditional testing approaches may fail to adequately capture the nuance that is required in the diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders, which ultimately determine the treatment trajectory for the child. In the case of Autism Spectrum Disorder in particular, potential diagnosis is complicated by the absence of medical testing or a standardized battery of tests that are specific to ASD. Our Neurodevelopmental Multidisciplinary Team takes the traditional testing approach one step further by offering opportunities to explore those nuances with a team of treatment professionals who are trained in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of individuals with ASD. Simply put, our program offers a specialized approach to testing that goes beyond the scope of a traditional psychological evaluations and provides access to practical strategies for caregivers to use immediately following the assessment process.
Our goal is to bring together experts from multiple disciplines to give families holistic and cohesive feedback on their child’s diagnosis so they can move forward effectively.
