Multisystemic therapy (MST) is an intensive, evidence-based treatment program provided in the home and community settings for youth experiencing significant clinical impairment in disruptive behavior, mood, and/or substance use. MST services are delivered in the youth’s natural environment (home/community), with the treatment plan being designed in collaboration with the youth, family, and all other relevant treatment providers
By design, MST services are highly individualized and more intensive than traditional mental health services. Services focus on the stabilization of the youth across multiple settings with the primary goal of decreasing youth criminal behavior and out-of-home placements.
Additionally, MST helps empower caregivers with the resources and skills to address problematic behavior and effectively parent their children.
