01. LBA Supervisor | Norfolk

Compass is seeking BCBAs/Licensed Behavior Analysts (LBA) who want to join our multi-disciplinary team. Compass values effective client treatment and growth, professional development, and integrity. We believe that a healthy work life balance ensures that clients receive high quality care.

Responsibilities and Duties

LBA supervisor leads a team of behavior technicians (clinicians) in providing data driven ABA services to clients and their families. LBAs complete frequent supervision with clients and families in their homes via home visits and secure video conferencing. LBAs are expected to create, revise and drive treatment plans according to data collected in sessions, observations, and collaboration with clinicians and families. Care coordination is delegated and completed across multidisciplinary teams both within and outside of Compass to ensure collaborative treatment and facilitate long term maintenance of treatment gains.

Candidates who are not yet ready or do not wish to supervise but would like to gain valuable experience and mentorship are also encouraged to apply!

Qualifications and Skills

  • All candidates for this position must be Board Certified Behavior Analysts and have, or are eligible for, licensure as a Licensed Behavior Analyst in Virginia.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of direct experience as well as a passion for working with special needs children and their families.
  • Candidates must exhibit excellent leadership qualities and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ideal candidates should have supervisory experience.

Our Services:

The Connections ABA program provides services for clients ages 2-21 years old, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental delays. Our clients typically present with treatment needs in the following areas:

  • Communication
  • Safety skills
  • Interfering behaviors
  • Activities of daily living
  • Family support needs

We provide home-based ABA services to our clients and their families utilizing evidence-based behavioral interventions.

    02. ABA Behavior Technician

    Compass is a community-focused multi-disciplinary counseling agency providing clinical services to children, adolescents and adults in the Hampton Roads area. We are currently seeking individuals who have a passion for working with children with special needs in our Connections ABA program.

    Compass provides services in all seven cities of Hampton Roads (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News, Hampton, and Suffolk).

    As a professional in our program, you will:

    • Provide home-based ABA services to individuals diagnosed with Autism and/ or related developmental disabilities under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
    • Work directly with families to support them in learning interventions and improving client behaviors
    • Collaborate with other professionals from various agencies in the community including: social services, schools, community service boards, physicians, etc.
    • Work one-on-one with clients and families in their homes and in the community to support them in learning functional communication skills, play skills, self-help skills, and safety skills.
    • Utilize interventions specifically designed for each child, record daily progress, maintain client records, and collect data on clients’ goals/ objectives.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • A Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field such as psychology, child development, communication disorders, behavior analysis, special education, or other human services fields is highly preferred
    • A minimum of 1 year of direct experience working with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental delays is required.
    • Candidates must be available to work with clients and their families during after-school and evening hours.
    • Candidates must be punctual, responsible, patient, friendly and motivated.
    • Candidates must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.

      03. Intensive In-Home Clinician (QMHP-C)

      We are seeking motivated professionals for Full Time Intensive In-Home Clinician positions. This program is designed to stabilize, strengthen, and support at-risk children and families through community-based counseling, collaboration, and skill building. The Intensive In-Home program provides excellent training, supervision, experience and support to bolster your career. Compass offers Full Time benefits and reimbursements.

      Free Residency Supervision for full time clinicians seeking Residency in Counseling and Residency in Social Work in our Intensive In-Home program. The Residency program provides free, on-site individual and group supervision toward LPC and LCSW licensure. Residency Supervisors are available to provide guidance with initial submission and documentation.

      Candidates for the Intensive In-Home clinician position must meet criteria to be a Qualified Mental Health Professional — Child (QMHP-C). A bachelor’s or master’s degree in human services or a related field (e.g. counseling, psychology, social work) and at least 1500 hours of documented clinical experience with children or adolescents who have a DSM diagnosis is required for the QMHP-C designation.

      This position requires registration with the Board of Counseling as a QMHP-Child. Candidates who have already completed the registration process are preferred.

        04. Mental Health Skill-building Clinician (QMHP-A)

        We are seeking motivated professionals for our Mental Health Skill-building Program. This program is designed to be goal-directed training to enable adult clients with mental illness achieve and maintain independence and community stability.

        This is a community-based position and involves training that is focused on the following areas with clients:

        • Functional skills and appropriate behavior related to the individual’s health & safety
        • Activities of daily living
        • Use of community resources
        • Assistance with medication management
        • Monitoring health, nutrition, and physical condition

        Compass provides services in all seven cities of Hampton Roads (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News, Hampton, and Suffolk).

        Candidates for this position must meet criteria to be a Qualified Mental Health Professional- Adult (QMHP-A).
